Tonight, the Hertha Berlin team will face BVB Dortmund in the German Bundesliga. It is an important game because the two teams are currently at number two and three in the table respectively behind the mighty Bayern München.
But it is also interesting because it will be a face off between two Japanese national players. Both Hertha’s Genki Haraguchi and BVB’s Shinji Kagawa have recently returned from a 1-1 draw against Australia in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and will play for different sides tonight. Genki-san actually scored the Japanese goal in Australia!
The next time you can see Genki at home in Berlin is on October 22 against F.C. Köln at the legendary Olympiastadion in Berlin.
In this video former Japanese Hertha player Hosogai introduces the impressive stadium to Genki:
We look forward to inviting Genki and all the other players and fans to the restaurant.
